The Start of Sabfrankcooks
My passion for cooking started when I was a kid—growing up experimenting in the kitchen. I came up with the name Sabfrankcooks back in 2018, and I’m so excited that it’s now a live website where I can share my favorite recipes, local eats, and everything I love about food.
I’m so excited to officially kick off this website and welcome you to Sabfrankcooks—a space where I can share my biggest passion: food!
This blog section is where you’ll find casual updates, behind-the-scenes content, and all the fun things I might not post on social media or my main recipe page. Think of it as a running conversation between me and you—whether you're here for recipe inspo, restaurant recs, or just to scroll. Please message me with any recipe or restaurant recs, I would love to try them out!
Since this is my first blog post, let’s start with a quick intro.
I’m Sabrina—a computer science major at the University of Georgia, but long before I was writing code, I was in the kitchen. I grew up experimenting with new recipes, binge-watching Anthony Bourdain and Food Network with my dad, baking with my mom, and trying to recreate dishes from my favorite restaurants. Cooking has always been a creative outlet for me—ever since I was a kid. It’s how I relax and express myself.
So... why Sabfrankcooks?
It actually started back in 2018 as an Instagram account, then evolved into a TikTok. But somewhere along the way, I started getting lost in the algorithm—overthinking what to post where and worrying about likes, comments, and views. I wanted a space that felt more like me, without the pressure of social media metrics. That’s why I built this site.
This site combines everything I love:
Sharing recipes that are actually doable
Reviewing the best (and worst) bites I try
Writing about the flavors and stories that make food meaningful
What do I hope this becomes?
A go-to spot for easy, approachable recipes you’ll actually want to cook
A hub for honest restaurant recs—especially around New England, the South, and wherever I travel next
A home for creative, flavorful, maybe slightly chaotic food ideas
A consistent, relevant blog where I can share real-time updates, thoughts, and foodie finds
A wildly successful site so I don’t have to work a 9–5 (kidding… kinda)
Whether you’re a college student looking for dorm-friendly dinners or just a curious foodie, I’m so glad you are here! I hope this becomes a place you visit often, whenever you’re hungry for something tasty, fun, and made with love.
xo,
Sabrina
